Berkshire Pig Breeds A medium sized pig, black in colour with prick ears, white socks, white blaze and white tail tip.

This rare breed pig, originating from Britain, became popular after being discovered approx 300 years ago by Cromwell's troops. They were originally bred in the Faringdon & Wantage regions of Berkshire (now Oxfordshire). Currently there are fewer than 300 breeding sows left in this country. Lively & good natured pig.

The Berkshire pig is a hardy outdoor breed renowned for its meat quality and flavour. It's good old fashioned pork with a layer of crackling to die for! Succulent meat that is great for pork, gammon, bacon or sausages.

   
British Saddleback

British Saddleback Pigs BreedBlack in colour with lop ears and a distinctive white band across it's shoulders, white hind feet and white tail tip.

Saddleback are a hardy breed which thrives outdoors, is easy to handle, make great mothers and will fill your table with some of the finest quality meat. Breed was formed in 1967 through the amalgamation of the Essex breed and the Wessex.

The British Saddleback was one of Britain's mainstream pigs until the 1970's. Currently there are fewer than 500 breeding sows in Britain. Again its meat is renowned for its flavour and has a good layer of crackling. Produces great tasting pork, gammon, bacon and sausages.
